Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and scrape the sides of the bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix on low until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker biscuits, chill the dough for 30 minutes or overnight. For gluten-free options, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking blend.
