Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips, semi-sweet and dark mix
  • Optional: Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and scrape the sides of the bowl.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix on low until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
  9. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker biscuits, chill the dough for 30 minutes or overnight. For gluten-free options, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking blend.
