A quick and easy protein-packed dessert that satisfies your sweet tooth in minutes.
Ingredients
1
scoop
chocolate or vanilla protein powder
(about 30g)
2
tbsp
almond flour or oat flour
1
tbsp
unsweetened cocoa powder
1
tsp
baking powder
1
tbsp
granulated sweetener
(e.g. stevia, erythritol, or sugar)
1
large
egg
3
tbsp
milk
(dairy or plant-based)
1/2
tsp
vanilla extract
1
tbsp
chocolate chips
(dark or semi-sweet)
Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the protein powder, almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sweetener until well combined.
Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until a smooth batter forms. Ensure there are no lumps.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top if desired.
Microwave the mug cake on high for 60-90 seconds, or until the cake has risen and is cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as it can become dry.
Allow the mug cake to cool for 1-2 minutes before enjoying. Optional: Add a dollop of Greek yogurt or whipped cream on top for extra flavor.
Notes
You can substitute almond flour with oat flour for a slightly different texture. Adjust the sweetener to taste.
