A quick and easy chocolate protein mug cake that's perfect for a single-serving dessert or snack.
Ingredients
1
scoop
chocolate protein powder
(about 30g)
2
tbsp
cocoa powder
1
tbsp
almond flour
(or regular flour)
1/4
tsp
baking powder
1
tbsp
sweetener
(e.g., honey, maple syrup, or a sugar substitute)
1/4
cup
unsweetened almond milk
(or regular milk)
1
tsp
vanilla extract
1
large
egg
chocolate chips or chopped nuts
(optional, for topping)
Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, almond flour, and baking powder until well combined.
Add the sweetener, almond milk, vanilla extract, and egg to the mug. Stir thoroughly until a smooth batter forms, ensuring no lumps remain.
If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips or chopped nuts on top of the batter for added texture and flavor.
Microwave the mug on high for 60-90 seconds, depending on the power of your microwave. Keep an eye on the mug to ensure the cake doesn't overflow.
Let the cake cool for 1-2 minutes before enjoying straight from the mug or transferring to a plate.
Notes
You can substitute almond flour with regular flour or oat flour. Adjust the sweetener to taste based on your preference.
