These spooky gelatin shots are a fun Halloween party treat with a fruity, boozy kick and a creepy eyeball surprise in the center. They are easy to make ahead and perfect for serving chilled in mini molds.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Heatproof bowl
  • silicone shot molds or mini muffin pan
  • level tray

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Lightly coat silicone shot molds or a mini muffin pan with cooking spray if needed, then place them on a level tray for easy transfer to the refrigerator.
  • In a large heatproof bowl, whisk the unflavored gelatin into the cold water and let it bloom for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the boiling water and stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  • Stir in the vodka and cranberry juice or white grape juice until well combined.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the molds, filling each about three-quarters full.
  • Add one gummy eyeball or candy eyeball to the center of each shot, pressing it in slightly so it stays in place.
  • Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours, or until fully set.
  • Unmold the gelatin shots just before serving, or serve them directly in the molds if preferred.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka with additional cranberry juice or white grape juice. If the molded shots are difficult to release, briefly run the outside of the mold under warm water to loosen them.
