A classic dessert made with juicy peaches and a buttery, golden crust. Perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
1/2
cup
unsalted butter
1
cup
all-purpose flour
1
cup
granulated sugar
1
tbsp
baking powder
1/4
tsp
salt
1
cup
milk
(whole or 2%)
4
cups
peaches
(peeled and sliced if fresh, drained if canned, thawed if frozen)
1/2
cup
brown sugar
1
tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4
tsp
ground nutmeg
(optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven while preheating. Once melted, remove the dish from the oven.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth and combined.
Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
In a separate bowl, combine the peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using). Stir to coat the peaches evenly.
Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish. Do not mix; the batter will rise around the peaches as it bakes.
Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
You can use fresh, canned, or frozen peaches depending on availability. Adjust sugar levels based on the sweetness of the peaches.
