These hot Italian sub sliders are layered with ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone, then baked on soft rolls with a savory seasoned butter topping. They make an easy crowd-pleasing appetizer, game day snack, or quick dinner.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Without separating the rolls, slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
Layer half of the provolone cheese over the bottom rolls, then add the ham, salami, and pepperoni evenly over the cheese. Top with the remaining provolone slices and place the top half of the rolls over everything.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, olive oil, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan, parsley, and red pepper flakes if using.
Brush or pour the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders, letting it soak into the rolls a little. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for 5 to 10 minutes more, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven, let rest for 2 to 3 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Use connected rolls for easier slicing and assembly. You can swap provolone for mozzarella or mozzarella-provolone blend, and add sliced banana peppers or a thin layer of marinara for extra Italian flavor.
