This one pot creamy garlic pasta is rich, comforting, and easy to make with simple pantry ingredients. It comes together in a single pot for a quick weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.
In a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and butter until the butter melts.
Add the minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 30 to 45 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the broth and milk, then add the pasta. Stir well to separate the noodles and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring frequently, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 to 12 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. If using, add the crushed red pepper flakes.
Remove from the heat and let the pasta sit for 1 to 2 minutes to thicken slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
For the best texture, stir the pasta often while it cooks so it does not stick to the bottom of the pot. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of broth or milk to loosen it before serving.
