Equipment

  • food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Rolling Pin

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Add the Oreo cookies to a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you do not have a food processor, place the cookies in a sealed bag and crush them into fine crumbs with a rolling pin.
  • Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese.
  • Mix until fully combined and a thick, uniform dough forms.
  • Scoop the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes, or until firm.
  • Melt the chocolate chips with the optional oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 to 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely, then return it to the baking sheet.
  • While the coating is still wet, add any desired toppings.
  • Refrigerate until the chocolate is set, about 15 to 20 minutes, then serve.

Notes

For easier dipping, keep the Oreo balls chilled until just before coating. If the chocolate thickens while working, rewarm it in short intervals. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
